Suggestions for transportation & parking
If you won’t be joining us by staying at the official conference hotel, be sure to check the proximity of your hotel to the conference location, as students often tell us that being close made their experience that much better.
Conference Location
The conference is being held in Red River Hall at Dallas College Richland Campus, 12800 Abrams Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
Parking is free on campus.
Weather
In November, the average day-time highs are 60-80 degrees and the average evening temperatures range from as low as 50-60 degrees. Meeting rooms may be cool due to air conditioning. While weather is generally pleasant in November, we recommend you bring an umbrella, as showers can appear unexpectedly.
Airports
If it would take you more than eight hours to drive to this conference, ASGA recommends that you consider flying. If you choose to travel by air, we recommend that you fly into Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) or Dallas Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW).
Dallas Love Field Airport is 13 miles from Dallas College Richland Campus, while Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport is 21 miles away. Flights into Dallas/Ft. Worth usually are less expensive and there are more flight choices.
Ground transportation
ASGA recommends that you get a rental car if you are flying to this conference. It will be much easier for you to drive to and from the airport, the conference location, attractions, and restaurants.
At the Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport, taxi service is available on the upper level of Terminals A, B, C and E, and on the lower level of Terminal D. For taxi information, please call 972-574-5878. Please note that taxis are expensive and are not convenient.
There are numerous ground transportation options between DFW Airport and surrounding Metroplex-area destinations. You can choose from various companies under taxis, charter buses, courtesy vehicles, limousines, public transit, rental vehicles and shared ride services.
Uber and Lyft
Both taxi-alternatives are convenient and easy to use. You’ll probably save money by using Uber or Lyft over a taxi.
Parking
Parking is free on the Dallas College/Richland campus.
